Michael Strickland, Ph.D. will be the Scholar in Residence for the School of Christian Thought’s SALT program (School of Advanced Leadership Training) that is offered in conjunction with Hope International University. In addition to teaching responsibilities, Dr. Strickland will moderate group discussions and keep office hours at North Boulevard to assist students throughout the week as they complete their coursework.
Michael is a proud graduate of Lawrence County High School in Moulton, Alabama, and of Auburn University (’97 & ’98) with a B.S. and M. Ed. in Mathematics Education. He has the M.A. in Biblical Studies from Lipscomb University (2001) and the Ph.D. in Theology from the University of Birmingham, UK (2012). He has been happily married to the woman of his dreams since 1997, and they have offered 3 contributions to the next generation of Strickland-dom. He has experience in ministry with Churches of Christ in Alabama and Tennessee. In addition to his role with the School of Christian Thought, Michael is also a deacon at the North Boulevard Church of Christ.
Michael is currently Associate Dean of the Turner School of Theology at Amridge University (amridgeuniversity.edu), where he teaches courses related to Theology, New Testament, Christian History, Apologetics and Hermeneutics. He also has done adjunct work for Heritage Christian University and Middle Tennessee State University (Hebrew). He has taught at the college level in the US and UK. Michael enjoys running, hiking, fishing, telling bad jokes and reading. He is also an aspiring philanthropist.
